A Review on 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt

Author: admin   |  Aug 5th, 2010

The Chevrolet Cobalt 2010 leaves you with two styles, which are sedan and coupe, and they both have four trim levels known as XFE, LS, LT and SS.

The XFE trim level exceeds a fuel economy.  It consists of steel wheels that measure 15 inches, an angled steering wheel, a rear seat that allows you to get to the trunk, a four-speaker audio system  that is equipped with a CD and an MP3 player, a trip computer, an auxiliary audio jack and a satellite radio.  The low rolling resistance tires of XFEs should credited for making them a better fuel economy.

The base LS can be closely compared to XFE, only it is equipped with an air conditioning system.  In LS, the front seats are more enhanced and an armrest that makes it more comfortable.  The 2LT trim level also has the same features like LS and added to them are cruise control, anti-lock brakes and alloy wheels measuring 16 inches.

The Chevy Cobalt LT coupe is more filled with features.  It has 16-inch wheels that are made of aluminum, anti-lock brakes, a MyLink package, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a cruise and audio-controlled steering wheel.  In addition, you can choose to have a sunroof, a seven-speaker audio system, a rear spoiler, and 17-inch wheels that are made of alloy.  These additions are available only to LT and LS trim levels.  Heated seats and leather veneers are additional options, but can only be applied to the 2LT.

The SS trim level stands out among the rest as it has a turbocharger.  It, likewise, has 18-inch wheels, front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, an extraordinary exterior, a stylish interior, a suede-like upholstery, a Pioneer audio system, a turbo boost gauge, and a Bluetooth.

All Chevrolet Cobalt 2010 have side curtain airbags.  The SS trim level has four-wheel disc brakes, while the other models have a front disc and a rear drum brake setup.  The anti-lock braking system can be found on both SS and 2LT, but is just one of the options on LT and LS.  Moreover, a traction control can be found on models having an anti-lock braking system and an automatic transmission.  However, they do not have airbags on the side and a stability control.

The less superior and less expensive Cobalt models absolutely reflect weak interiors.  Their designs are unfashionable and plain.  The materials used are not high-quality and the components are not that well-polished.  Although the front seats are quite comfortable, the rear seat do not offer the same comfort since it is flat and low.  However, these inferior Cobalts can’t be generally bad because their cabin is calm and they run smoothly.  The controls of the air conditioning system and the stereo are, likewise, well-housed.

An Outline on the 2010 Honda Fit Models

Author: admin   |  Aug 5th, 2010

Honda is ready for another stiff competition as it has proudly and successfully launched the 2010 Honda Fit.  Once again, this gives its competitors a huge challenge on how they could topple the less inexpensive compact cars.  Fit is undeniably the most competitive of its kind.  Its interior is outstanding and so is the driving experience it offers.  Seldom do we see a great innovation these days, but the 2010 Honda Fit totally has come out noticeably.

The Fit really stand out in terms of its interior.  It has an exceptional design and the look is simply amazing.  All trim levels have telescoping steering wheel and the navigation system is made as an option.  The front seat and back seats are spacious enough to occupy a number of adults.  The Magic Seat still is present in Fit and it is very purposeful as always.  The seats at the back can be folded, which allows large baggage to occupy the space.  The space can actually be expanded to as wide as 57 cubic feet and this can equally compete with other compact Sport Utility Vehicles or SUVs.

Since it was launched in 2007, the Fit has always been powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine.  The Fit was redesigned a year ago and has undergone several enhancements, which made it even more powerful.  Based on a test drive, the 2010 Honda works faster with a manual transmission rather than with an automatic transmission.  Within 8.9 seconds, it was able to record a 0-60 mph sprint.  The fuel economy of Fit seems to be incompatible with its small size and it is quite frustrating, but surprisingly, it is still one of the cars that is very efficient.

The 2010 Honda Fit sure is on a competitive mode.  The close competitors of Fit are the Nissan Cube, Scion xD and Toyota Yaris.  The SX4 model of Suzuki is also considered a threat, but its bland fuel economy makes it inferior.  The one and only worthy contender so far is the Ford Fiesta, although it has yet to be launched on 2011.

Fit is a four-door hatchback that is being offered in two trim levels.  One is the Base and the second is the Sport model.  The Base has 15-inch steel wheels, an air conditioning system, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a four-speaker audio system that is equipped with a CD and MP3 player and an auxiliary audio output.  And as for the Sport trim level, it has 16-inch wheels made of alloy, fog lights, extensions on the lower frame, a rear spoiler, a cruise control, map lights, an armrest on the driver’s seat, and a six-speaker sound system plus a USB port.  The navigation system is an option for the Sport.

The 2010 Honda Fit is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 117 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque.  Both the Base and the Sport have a five-speed manual transmission and leaves the five-speed automatic transmission as an option.
